Plant Description

Ceanothus 'Cool Blue' 3L Pot is a versatile garden plant grown for the appeal of its blue flowers and blue / green foliage. This Californian Lilac is an excellent choice for borders, containers, where it brings colour, texture and seasonal interest.

Ceanothus 'Cool Blue' 3L Pot is straightforward to look after with routine care and suits a wide range of garden styles. Reaching around 1.5m at maturity, it performs best in a sunny spot. Supplied in a 3L Pot pot, this size offers a practical starting point for planting out, patio displays or growing on at home.

Planting & Aftercare

Choose a pot with drainage holes slightly larger than the nursery pot. Use well-draining potting mix. Place the plant at the same depth it was in the original pot. Water thoroughly after planting.
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry. In spring and summer, this is typically once a week. Reduce watering in autumn and winter. Always check the soil before watering to avoid overwatering.
Overwatering is the most common issue. Avoid placing in direct sunlight which can scorch leaves. Don't repot too frequently - most plants prefer to be slightly root-bound. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring to early autumn). Reduce or stop feeding in winter when growth naturally slows.
